History of MMF

The success of any given undertaking is based on the value attached to it by its proponents and supporters.  On this premise, life at Maria Montessori Foundation will flourish only when everyone involved –students, parents, teachers, and staff – collaborates to achieve its goals.

The school, established by the Maria Montessori Foundation, Inc., was born out of the need to provide continuous education for those who believe in the Montessori concept of education.

In May, 1979, the Foundation set up the High School in Pasay pending ownership of its own site and building.

December 15, 1984 was a milestone – we broke ground at Alabang, our institution’s permanent home.

June, 1985 saw the Foundation opening its school at Alabang in all three levels – Casa (Pre-elementary), Elementary, High School.  In 1985, the High School got its recognition, S–0018, from the Department of Education, Culture and Sports.  In 1989, the Casa,         P–014, and the Grade School, E -0011, had their recognition from the same department.  Our school was given authority to accept foreign students by the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation, AAFS No. ADD 02-044.

Our school is continually evolving, always renewing itself to be more relevant to the times.
